BRO.SAMUEL EBENEZER ANDREWS. Founder of the Madras Bible League was serving in the Post and Telegraphs Department. when he came into the marvellous experience of salvation. From then on, he spent his time, energy and everything he had in the service of his dear master. Even in the Post Office he could be found working wearing a read band prominently (like a cross belt) inscribed “Jesus Saves” Many Christians and non-Christians were brought to the deep experience of salvation through his ministry at 142/A Bethany Hut. Thousand Lights. He conducted many a Convention in the City of Madras. giving away everything he had. He started his work among Anglo-Indians first and then with the Indian Christians and trained many young men in the Lord’s work. It was his burden and vision concerning the part that laymen should play in the Church of God that resulted in the founding of the Madras Bible League in 1924. The Lord has immensely blessed and increased the work of His good and faithful servant in that, the Madras Bible League, by the grace of God has sent forth many Labourers to work in his Vineyard through these seventy five years. A man of prayer. with a strong faith: a powerful and fearless preacher, a loving soul winner and an able organiser – the fruit of his labour will be known in its real magnitude only in Heaven, in the presence of his dear Master, whom he loved and served with his all. Heb.13:7.
